Preserve
an Irish Heritage
In
the area of the Ring of Kerry mountain
sheep have been in the hills and
on the roads for over one hundred
years. Every year thousands of
tourists come over to see the beautiful
countryside and make photographs
of the ewes and little lambs wandering
around, enjoying their freedom.
The goal of Adopt a Sheep is
to preserve the Irish heritage
of mountain sheep, living in the
mountains in the scenic area of
Moll’s Gap on the Ring of
Kerry (Ireland). In doing so also
the heritage of a traditional family
farm in this Special Area of Conservation
is saved for future generations. Adoptions
You can adopt a sheep for only €45 a year and become an Adoptive
Parent,
enjoying many privileges on the farm. This amount covers the costs
of maintaining one mountain sheep for a year. You can give your adoptive
sheep a name and you will receive a certificate with your name and
the tag number of ‘your’ sheep on it. Your money will also be used
for general maintenance of the farm land and therefore benefit all
sheep living on Kissane Sheep Farm. Click here to
apply.
For
€75 a year, you can become a
Special Adoptive Parent, who
adopts a sheep and enjoys ALL
activities on the farm free.
Special Adoptive
Parents can, for instance, go with John into the hills and experience
the real work of a mountain sheep farmer. Click here to
apply.
