Spring
Lambs are born in the Spring. Mountain sheep do not need help to deliver; they can stay in the hills where they feel at home. John Kissane does regular checks from day break until dark, to make sure all is well. If he finds a sheep in trouble, he brings it home or helps deliver the lamb in the hills. Sometimes, he finds a lamb without a mother; an orphan. He brings it home where Anne will make a bottle to feed it ... a pet lamb has arrived!

Deer Eating with the Sheep
Nature is very hard on the mothers. Only at the end of April does the grass start to grow in the mountains. Until then, the ewes receive extra feed from John Kissane to keep them and their lambs alive. A lot of wild deer come to Kissane Sheep Farm to eat with the sheep. In Killarney National Park, they do not find enough food. Every day, they wait until John is gone and then they join the sheep eating the ration.
